| The 20,000-metical banknote is out of pattern to the other notes issued between 1994 and 2004. The use of the image of the seated woman writing in a book was originally used on the 1-metical coin issued in 1980 (see Figure 12). The image is also used as the watermark for this note (see Figure 17). The back of the note shows the Parliament House in Maputo. |
