The 50-ruble note. A helmeted woman, as an allegorical representation of ‘Russia’ is at the left on the front of the note and a medallion of St. George is at the lower right. On the back is a double-headed eagle adapted from the Russian Imperial arms; but gone are the crowns and regalia of the imperial arms, leaving only the double-headed eagle and the shield with St. George slaying a dragon. Grasped by the talons of the eagle is a long ribbon in the colours of the Order of St. George – black and gold. |
